The European Champion, the Spanish Team, will be the number one seed for the nine classification groups for the final phase of the UEFA EURO 2012, the draw will take place in Warsaw, September 7th 2012.

Nine groups will be shaped for the classification round through out the six drums that there will be in the draw. Six groups will be made of six national teams, while three groups will be of five national combinations, from which there will be 14 qualified teams for the final phase and will meet with Poland and Ukraine, both hosts of the European.

The drums are based on the UEFA coefficient system of the national teams, once the classification round for the FIFA World Cup has finished, with the European champion automatically occupying the first drum. All groups will have a nation from the first five drums and six groups will include a selection from the drum 6. Every group selection will confront each other in a home and away match.

The classification games will be placed inside the International calendar between September 2010 and October 2011. The nine group champions and the group sub champion with the best record against the first, third, forth and fifth of its group, will be directly classified for the final phase of the tournament. The eight group sub champions will play a repechage against each other on November 2011.

Drum 2: Greece, Czech Republic, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Denmark, Slovakia, Romania.

Drum 3: Israel, Bulgaria, Finland, Norway, Republic de Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Austria, Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Drum 4: Slovenia, Latvia, Hungary, Latvia, Belorussia, Belgium, Wales, A.R.Y. Macedonia, Cyprus.

Drum 5: Montenegro, Albania, Estonia, Georgia, Moldavia, Iceland, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Liechtenstein.

Drum 6: Azerbaijan, Luxemburg, Malta, Faroe Islands, Andorra, San Marino
